What I'm saying is, no, I will not sell my arcana's because they have been and will always be at least the amount I paid for them.
And the prize pool for TI8 might be slightly lower since the final total for TI7 was insane, but it won't be that much lower. In fact it might even be higher, they've always increased year after year by about 5 million.
You also clearly don't understand how the market fucking works.
The prices on rare items, let's take mace of aeons for example, is only increasing. People are relatively confident that dota will be around and confident that there r people who will purchase something like that so the price increases. You will know when to sell ur shit when the prices dip downwards a bit on those type of high-end items.
The only time that a price for an item ever decreases is when people don't want it. Take for example the ultra rare necro immortal from TI7. When they first came out, they were rare and everyone had that "holy shit this looks cool as hell" factor. They were selling at a peak price of $55. However, a few months after when people realized that anyone over level 1000 had like 200 treasures and had opened at least 3 of them (myself included), their value went down significantly. Now they're like $14 lmao, glad I sold mine when I did. Items like the Mace of Aeons and literally every arcana will never lose their current value. That is because people actually want them because they are considered to be rare. Having a super high price or a super low drop rate will ensure that an item will maintain its value.
TL:DR - The prices on badass items won't go down because everyone else likes them too.
All they need to do is slightly decrease the cut valve takes and increase the percentage which goes into the prizepool.
^he's correct. that way the prizepool will always top the previous year's. A slight loss incurred is better than losing face as an ever-growing game.

As everyone can see the declining trend. I think its more to do with psychology as well. As many people are leaving so u feel that seeping into u and the interest just declines.
I think this trend will continue till the TI this year. When the prize pool will be significantly lower than previous years, the players will realize the reality. The blow will be even bigger if pro players /teams hang up the boots. The game will be the same but the mentality of the players will change hence fewer players.
If something drastic happens then I dont know.
