Team Yellow Submarine, another CIS competitor, has reported that some of their players had received offers to throw in their series against Na‘Vi. The player 'Collapse' was offered 1 million Russian rubles, or nearly 13,000 US dollars. The money was offered to be split between him and two of his teammates who would also be brought in as part of the deal if they didn’t tell 'Korb3n' (manager) and agreed to throw.

Redditor @evilrapich translated the conversation between 'Collapse' and the match-fixer as: "Hi, there's [an] opportunity to make some good money on tomorrow match against Navi. More than prize money you get win or lose. If you agree don't tell your manager, beside you there will be 2 players from your team. You 3 will share 1 million rubles +", to which 'Collapse' replied with "no tnx".

Good for Collapse, having the integrity to say no, and immediately reporting it to the Yellow Submarine manager. Plenty of players could be tempted by that kind of money, especially people in the tier 2 scene. YS made 7.5K USD for their 9-11th place finish in ESL One Germany 2020 Online, so assume 1500 USD per player. If he took the deal and split it with his 2 teammates, he would've made ~4300 USD.

Why not just take the money and then not throw, win win situation.

@kabir you think they are just gonna pay before they throw? Nope. And the thing is match fixing and betting has huge lobbies behind. So these pro players are not gonna get off easily if they cheat them
