No, truth is: you just played Pudge too much. Pudge don't need farm and relies on his skills to get kills. So you play SF in same way and your farming skill is as good as of 1k MMR player.
I have the same issues. I can't farm at all. But I play support and this doesn't hurt me much. Take my advice - play support. You can even play a kind of roaming support Pudge, if you like this hero so much and have great success with him. Trust me it's legit, just land those hooks.

I had a russian 5k storm mid that fed 2 kills before 5 minute mark, AFK necro ancients that didnt want to support and I had a qop and es in offlane, don't know why es was with qop, I was solo top and I stopped playing.
