Dotabuff Fantasy Guide: Main Event Day 1
The first couple of days of TI10 main event fantasy are going to be quite easy. There are no potential repeating teams, and we don’t need to guess whether a team needs to play extra matches.
Moreover, only two best games in Bo3 count for fantasy, so we don’t even need to guess a particularly close series either. Using averages, therefore, is possibly the best course of action.
Mid
iG.Emo is so ahead of the pack it is unfair. On average, he scores almost ~20% higher than
Jankowski, who is your second best option.
One could argue that Invictus Gaming vs. Team Spirit could be a one-sided, quick stomp, but don’t forget that Team Spirit took games off PSG.LGD and Vici Gaming back in June, during the Animajor. They won’t go down without a fight and their phenomenal group stage comeback is a proof of that.
cores
Aster.Suma1L- is an obvious choice. Fourth best-performing fantasy player and an exceptionally even matchup leave us absolutely no other options for core slot number one.
For our second pick we are going to go with iG.FlyFly. There is a 0.01 difference in fantasy average between him and
TSpirit.Yatoro, but we feel like iG is a stronger contender, though we were really wrong before and might be wrong again.
You can, technically, go with Liquid.MATUMBAMAN, but placing two opposing carries feels counterintuitive.
Supports
We took a gamble a couple of times, but we won’t keep on making the same mistake. You see YapzOr, you pick
YapzOr, no questions asked.
Second pick is a bit trickier, but Aster.Kaka is sufficiently ahead of
Saksa to make him a better pick, regardless of matchups.
The next best support is Miposhka, who on average earns ~20% less than YapzOr.

by the way, regarding the bracket, so far I got IG - Spirit right, that's it. And by the look of A-BC laning stage I botched this too. told you you didn't want to follow my predictions :D
For my bracket, I just looked at a matchup and thought: which one would make me happier if they won. And selected the opposite. So far, I am very, very sad, but will probably get a lot of points.
