Yes. My scores are pretty respectable and at the end of the day it is only a game.
If you aren't that great at it but you still enjoy it then that's great.

easy for it to only be a game etc when you get good scores. Then again that is pretty much the core of the dota experience. Good if you are doing well, horrible if you are doing badly.
Being stuck in lower brackets isn't enjoyable. I'm just mentally preparing myself to restart an account and do MMR at 150 games, when smurf protection is still pushing the account up.
how hard would be to make a Steam bot (like D2lounge) that you add as a friend, in order to keep your MMR tracked?

Has been done :) A bot "STrack|Name" adds you and uploads your mmr changes on the website.
