Scraped a win with the LC offlane finally but got carried major
I've had it done against me a couple times. You play really defensive and spam the nuke thingy on the wave to annoy the carry. You don't farm you just level. In the couple games against me, other team won but because they won other lanes. At 6-8 lc would leave and gank other lanes with duel. So even though we had a carry free farming safe lane we'd lose cus our offlanes fed while the lc did not.
In other words, doesn't seem very good but you can offlane just about anything if your other lanes win.

Not everything in Dota2 hinges on farm, in the same way void can successfully offlane by being a play maker later, in the same respect can a legion.
