Reading doesn't hurt your eyes and it's actually good for you: http://www.dotabuff.com/pages/rating-buddy
How do I get access to Rating Buddy?
Rating Buddy is currently in limited beta. We're making it available to more players every day.
As a way of saying thank you for the support, Dotabuff Plus subscribers get immediate access to Rating Buddy. Everyone else will gain access to Rating Buddy, chosen randomly, over the coming weeks and months.
Is this a Dotabuff Plus feature?
No, Rating Buddy is completely free and will be available to all players. Plus subscribers simply have access to the limited beta a bit earlier, everyone else will gain access shortly thereafter.
I want to have it selected, but I need to add some account for it to work: and I can't add people, they need to add me. .maetS
Around 50% of visitors currently have access to rating buddy, and we're increasing that. We actually gave access to forum posters in good standing (not currently banned) and previous plus owners first before the general public.
If you have an account which is unable to invite a friend you cannot currently participate in rating buddy. I think your account becomes able to invite people once you have paid Valve money; gifts do not count. Free game right?
@xan It's a pretty recent change but if you have a smurf you haven't purchased anything on you can test it out.
can i have a rating buddy? x)
in all seriousness, though:
i'm currently using DOTA 2 Toplist
http://dota2toplist.com/players/32177
which actually leads me to idea: could you (dotabuff staff) somehow make an API to import old data from DOTA 2 toplist? it'd be great so there is a sense of continuity for people who have used DOTA 2 toplist in the past. please? :)
because there is no such information available, not even right now.
you cant just look at people's mmr. you have to be friends with a person OR look at the end screen after you play ranked match together.
don't have a smurf, but honestly that's really bollocks move by valve if true. (which wouldn't surprise me even the slightest actually since they are cun7s)
@Lawlie
Yes, that's true, however I cannot add people cause too many pending friend requests. AKA friend requests goes along with your max friends on your steam account, however people can add you and you can exceed the limit.
Fuckd up shit.
And it's been like that for like 3 years if not more now.
xan it only takes a 99 cent purchase to enable your account :\ that's been around for a pretty damn long time too.
@Dipshit
It was like that before, but once Dota got released, they removed that restriction to allow new Dota players to use Steam normally.
Two months ago, they re-enabled it. There were too many bots that randomly added people and spammed them with phishing links and those .scr viruses. I guess too many people got scammed, so they did this as a way to prevent it.

is it available to everyone, if not why did certain people get selected?
