Game FPS will randomly drop; permanently. in General Discussion

Anyone have a solution for this?

I will be playing at max FPS when all of a suddenly halfway through it just drops and it won't go back up unless I restart the whole client.

Changing my settings does NOTHING. The FPS works this way whether I have maxed out graphics (which I do) or minimum. Changing resolution doesn't work, fullscreen/windowed/fullscreenwindowed blablabla. I've tried it all, doesn't work.

Very rarely, the FPS goes back up but thats about it. GPU isn't overheating and is at a constant 35~38 degrees.

The annoying thing is my rig is capable of maxed out settings and it does fine until it just randomly drops and then I need to restart. Vsync off and on doesn't change anything.

Troubleshooting requires PC specs so that all possibilities can be eliminated. Have you had a look at your resource monitor when this happens? What is your CPU and memory doing? Any error messages etc.? Really need more info to give any useful kind of help.

Well, if you already tried changing all settings the next step would be to (re-)install the latest graphics driver. If that doesn't work, reinstall DotA.

Try this. It works for me.
+engine_no_focus_sleep 0 -high -nod3d9ex -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd -useforcedmparms -novid -noaafonts

U running sli? I have two gtx 660s this happens to me as well. I got it sorted by changing settings in the nvidia control panel - setting Dota to use only a single gpu, turning adaptive sync on, and disabling vsync in game. I've also set fps_max to 60, not sure if that does much tho
