In a place where several animes are almost mainstream, people who like animes are reasonably normal. Enough that you couldn't really call them weebs (or otakus, because "weabo" or whatever doesn't exist here), though we do have those weird otakufests for the more hardcore fans.

It's a manga and it has an anime adaptation, which I haven't watched, but I've heard it doesn't deviate from it's source material. So yeah, you can either read it or watch it :P
