If I get paird with 5K+ MMR, shouldn't the mmr calibration cap be higher than 5k? in General Discussion
Why join, if abandon?

Hi, so I played a fresh account, went to very high rank within 2 matches, with high kda xpm gpm, then won won a vhs 5k+ rank ending with 8-1.

Now that people have 8k mmr and going toward 9k, shouldn't the cap be higher rather than lower

      its to prevent account selling

@sano where did you read that

        Welt aus Eis

          its obvious

          Welt aus Eis

if it was easy to create a smurf and calibrate 6k people would just sell 6k accs nonstop
since you need 3 billion games to be able to play ranked and cant calibrate over 5k its harder

@sano it's always harder to raise mmr on an account that was calibrated low, unranked calibration is easier because it doesn't raise mmr by increments of 25 max, the way ranked does, it bumps you up from normal, to high, to very high, and you get to play and wreck 5 k players by the fourth match, and if you can beat 6-7k, the capping makes little sense if 6-7k does have a big difference between 4-5k

If those account buyers are that bad, then they should lose their mmr, the thing is people complain about them being on their team, because they lose mmr as a result, but if they were that good, the argument that people keep rumoring, is that they will simply regain their mmr, when in reality, they complain because they know that they will simply lose all their mmr, along with the account buyer who doesn't know how to play, you hear 5-7k players whine about account buyers and whatnot, why do they care? Because they are trying to 'protect' their mmr, it's no different. They got their by smurfing, essentially, and they want others to not smurf so that they can retain their position. Actually, people realize that the system is anything but accurate, which shows in their reactions on issues surrounding it, which they may not reveal when key words are brought up, but when unexpected, they reveal it.

Any pro would much prefer to calibrate a fresh account rather than to raise an account that was put into 0 mmr if that's even possible, it doesn't make them any less pro, but it does keep those not in the know about it stuck in wherever they are stuck in, though if they simply did the same thing, they would be in the same bracket, which is worlds apart from where they are.

                short: no, it's not 'obvious'

@sano oh, yea, and if there were really alot of smurfs, then they'd be facing each other, meaning it really wouldn't be a win situation, and i've seen it alot, lots of people 'try' to smurf, but they can't. I see their accounts are brand new and I know they aren't brand new to the game because I see how they play, but I also see that they can't win, and they get rekt, because though they may try to get a 7k account or whatever, they don't play like that. If you keep stomping, each game brings you up, so that means actual competition increases, meaning you can't really abuse winning over high rated players unless you are actually that good.

You can tell by watching that there are some newbs who want to 'smurf' their way to high mmr on a new account but they lose anyway, especially if they are facing other smurfs, or actual smurfs, and not simply someone trying to cheat their way into a bracket they aren't in
