no, dotabuff never liked being a normal forum and likes endless noob threads. There used to be ignore option now u just gotta take it up the ass everytime u check out people's DB profile while playing ranked.
We've tried to make this place a decent board like 10 times already, the admins don't care you shouldn't bother
whats the problem with just ignoring this threads? its pretty obvious what they are about and you dont need to open every one of those to check it out. no one forces you to waste ur time on this crap; at least that's the way i see it.
Seems a job to a peruvian overlord, i'd feed in anyone's match if they started to brag about their mmr /team /etc jajajajajaja xd peru
why is it supposed to be spam?
leaving apart the question of the intellectual level of these guys, they just ask a dota-related question that bothers them. you cant ban people on forums just because you personally dislike them.
that's the reason why we started to "Ctrl-A + Ctrl-C + Ctrl-V" these threads, just to make them go away. There should be a single Thread where you're supposed to guess the above posters MMR, like the other game threads we have. all these spammers who just want to show off their profile can go there then.
to me every time i see these kind of threads i picture in my head the same guy who is around 2300-3100 mmr asking the same stupid question.
Funny, cause I bet most of the elitist here have thought the same things these people are currently thinking " my team. " You can ignore the threads you know.
its all the reddit tards coming to db cause noone usually answers on reddit
i mean if i was an admin i'd just make a section where you need to be a verified 5k+ player to post (dotabuff has mmr bots so it shouldnt be a problem)
everybody would be able to read and have access to the discussion but not to post
@sano
wouldnt it be boring?
i mean, most of us only respond to other threads 99% of times, and we rarely have any questions worth creating a thread. well, we discuss meta shifts and competitive dota; also we shitpost, but way less often than he rest of so-called dbuff community.
this section of the forum would die immediatly due to the snowball effect - less people posting will lead to less desire to post, which in turn will decrease the activity even more.
if I knew I could create a thread in a place where only kitrak, zenoth, matrice, wave etc would reply I would create way more threads than I do currently and I'm sure I'm not the only one
anyway this is never gonna happen so its pointless to discuss
welp, whenever i got a question of the kind that can be discussed only with gut players, i just open steam and use private message. forum supposes a very large audience (shoutout to the origins of the word "forum").
what you want is some sort of elitist (not in bad sense) gaming community.
plot twist wave is the one posting all the "wut's my MMR gonna be, How I git high skill" just to fuck with everyone.
If you want a forum massive numbers of people will enjoy reading, then maintain the freedom thus far allowed. If however, you want a forum visited only by a handful of elitist snobs... do as kitrak suggests and ban every scrap of speech that annoys or offends you.
Surely the flamer, trolls are the heart of the dotabuff community and the very soul of wit. It's these common vermin ruining our extremely professional and high-minded dota discussions with their petty requests for MMR estimates that must go AND GO NOW!!!
right?

Also I love #12 suggestion, but I'm afraid wave has found a new source of narcissistic supply.
Reality is people love and need repetition. Repetition sells. Repetition teaches. Repetition confirms. Singularly irregular phenomena are dismissed by the human mind, usually entirely missed, and normally quickly forgotten.
People want variety, but only variation on a consistent theme. If they don't get the same content and predicatable patterns they become distressed at worst and uninterested at best because their brains can't make sense of a non-repeating enviornment.
Yes is really boring, also there're too much post on internet with guides and others to improve the skills of begginers.
Also another think that I don't understand is things like "My team sucks, the other team plays better" If you are better than your teammates, you have the advantage.

these are like 2/3 of the threads on this forum and they're all redundant
can someone just make a designated pinned thread and then delete all of the others thx
