The only objective in DotA is to win the game. If that means playing Slardar and rushing dagon, so be it, you don't even have to not be shit to climb if you're 2k.

Over half of all dota players are between 2k and 3k MMR. That is why it is called "Normal Skill".
If you want to get good at a hero you have to spam it. If you want to learn the game you have play a wide variety of heroes. These two objectives really cannot be achieved simultaneously.

If u wanna pley which role for every game just go with one role (preferably a ganker cus its a win win) because jack of all trade is a no go for 2k players, cus in 2k games kill wins game
in my opinion you should focus on 1 role while having "backup" heroes for every other role. dont try to play too many heroes unless you really have ltos of time if nto ure just gna be mediocre at everything
no need to have backup hero for mid, there will always be a mid and if you really have to, just pick viper xDDDDDD
for example i play carry mostly : spectre am jugg slark pl ember
then if my role is taken i will either play offlane zeus or abbadon, if i have to support i will pick dazzle or earthshaker or lich/zeus as offlane support
if you play carries mostly then i wud advise that you dont play offlane/support roles which need to have a huge mindset change, for eg if u pick some playmaking/low farm offlaner like clockwerk it can be hard to get used to especially if you only play it occasionally, or like a roaming/aggressive support like venge which requires you to have a certain understanding of the game that you wont have as a carry. while if you play laning support/defensive support it generally just requires you to have good laning mechanics and good awareness that any carry should have naturally
btw i advise you to fallback on playing offlane supports if you are forced to support, you generally just need to lane well as opposed to safelane supports where you are expected to know how to zone/pull/rotate properly which i can tell that every sub 5k support are totally incompetent at

Ok i'm a 2k player, being humble and want to know what my best role is.. At this situation would it be better for me to be versatile in my role( 1-5post) or should i stick to only 1 in each games.. Is VERSATILITY the main aim/objectives for any 2k player?
P/s : 98% of my games are party matches. Rarely played solo.
