I think there are 2 ways of playing him. 1 is rush Orchid in safe Lane or bloodstone in mid.
Bloodstone case u go arcane boots souring, disassemble boots for bloodstone

You need to farm early game then you can go fighting. He is better played in the safelane but when I go mid I usually go Null Talisman + Faeri Fire and get 1-2 tangoes from teammates.
