I'm new to Dota2 I'm looking forward with this game and I want to learn more.I play Dota 1 but hard to understand dota2.
@i think, give him the benefit of the doubt, he did say he played dota 1 before dota 2,
@phantom, play with friends who are better than you, you will learn from them. Watch good players, read guides, rewatch your replays. Getting good at dota doesn't come overnight. just keep playing, you will eventually get better
dota 2 is very very different from dota 1 now
if you wanna completely relearn the game try supporting first. you need to know a lot of stuff as a support,
positioning since you're so frail and easily die unless you're an ogre magi.
farming efficiency since you get such a small chance for that.
resource management and tactical thinking because you need gold to buy dust/smoke/wards at the right time for them to make the most impact and benefit and you cannot squander your gold since you're a pos 5/4.
leadership and communication because the team relies on your analysis of the game to make major decision since you hold most of the utility items and abilities (most of the time) and need you for them to win.
dedication and concentration you cannot lapse when you support, nor can you be distracted by things like texting/eating since you are supposed to be the most mobile hero on the map, able to tp at the slightest alarm for your mid or your ganked offlane. also you need to know that you are the sacrificial lamb, never hesitate to die if you can save your carry/basically any other hero
intuitive decision making/thorough game sense to be able to counteract the enemy support's own attempts at providing vision with wards. you also need to be flexible with your itemization to either complement your team's strengths (veil of discord for magic, etc) or counter the enemy's (glimmer vs necro/early mek for pushing strats/ force staff vs a riki/etc)
that's shit from the top of my head but better players could list more
also you're doing great in the carry position, i guess you're a bit out of touch with the meta you still have that mechanical skill you gained
you can always continue with what you are doing, you'll eventually adapt to the meta and instinctively decide what is better/worse
careful though, at the rate you're going matchmaking will only put you up against better players. that's not necessarily bad you can get better even more just don't get tilted along the way
@renshin thanks sir I'm reading some guides here to learn more Im just confuse with the MMR thing .
easiest way to grind mmr is playing meta heroes
whereas in 2k 3k thats not the case ,u can win game solo with hero like ember
yeah tom is right at trash tier aka my tier there is no need to follow meta or any shit
pure skill is what lifts you up 3k>, following metas just give you a little advantage
knowledge =/= skill though, this i learned just recently. even if you have a clear process of thought, it all boils down to execution of it
testerv2 3.4k isnt even that high as a smurf, realistically smurf calibrate at 4k then drop down back to 2k
well gz anyway maybe that is better because you'll be able to adapt easier to the enemies, might actually make you better
@hiroshima thanks for the long advice sir I'm a versatile player I can do support carry and offlane but not that good in mid :))
Hahaha grats bro i don't know how to have MMR .
@peepingtom thanks sir ember is hard to play I don't know how to farm fast with that hero
i swear i can see myself doing this particular thing to perfection in my mind but along the way i get off track and fuck shit up
actually you're wrong, knowledge== skill. dota is an ARTS not a FPS
you don't need reflexes, you need knowledge.
anyways, op if you have any questions you can add me and i'll answer. i'm actually gonna go stream now
if basketball coaches are so knowledgeable about the game tell me why they arent the ones playing
so why did they retire
they dont have the reflexes to maintain their play
its like a top tier racer given something like a 1976 British Leyland Mini 1000, car cant cope with racing skills
On higher mmr players have simmilar reaction time. Decision making, teamplay and draft makes the difference.
I think teamplay and knowledge to the hero that has been used is important. but this teamplay sometimes fail because of those stupid feeder who have the motto of "mid or feed"
reflexes in dota = adapting to knowledge presented quicker than your opponents, in a fashion that is more suited to game winning solutions.
i play like bitch boy in offlane = supprot get bored and go bully my mid, i get 1v1 lane with some bitch hero like drow

Can my account reach 3k MMR in supporting role?
