Well for axe and legion there's not a ton you can do except not get called and dueled. Linken's vs lc, awareness vs axe. Other than that build some armor like AC and lifesteal. Like on lifestealer, LC can solo you with just blade mail and blink until you get AC, then you'll out lifesteal the dmg reduced by your massive armor. Or you can get deso and LC will die before you do cus you'll reduce his armor so much and dmg is returned before reductions and then reduced based on your armor.
Vs axe that doesn't work cus his call gives him 40 fucking armor. You can get lifesteal and maybe it's enough to survive the 3 seconds of call. Otherwise you have to have your teammates euls, or ghost, or force staff or avoid the jumps.
vs any other heroes satanic is good, like if a necro is being a prick with blademail so you can't burst him down before he ults if you get satanic you'll heal through any dmg easily.
buy ways to survive or tank that damage type.
for example on AM you want vlads and/or AC.
kill him with blademail just dont die no need to wait 5 sec seconds are so important thing in dota pros attack hero with blademail even tho they lose 200 300 hp but its allrdy 1 hero less or just insta switch to other hero dont stand and do nothing
Not true the damage is returned as same type unmodified and then reduced by your modifications so that means for right clicks if you have armor you can reduce the dmg taken. For magic you need magic resist.

Say you are a Lion with a bkb, and you blink and Ult Axe with his Blademail on but have your BKB on, the Lion's Ult should not return damage since it is Magic Damage being returned, and BKB nulls that.
With right-click if you have an AC and Crimson, but also have a Crit stick, and MKB, the amount of damage returned should be reduced plenty since it is Phys damage being returned.
Which is why sometimes you can just keep hitting the target til it dies cus it'll die before you do like if you are drow or sven hitting a necro or something, but why axe's call sucks so badly cus he takes barely any dmg with that armor and you take tons.
I think it's the Pure Damage that makes Axe Call hurt more than the Blademail

Armor reduction (sf's passive, slard's ulti) actually increases the return damage.
So unless ur lifestealer or sven with satanic ur gonna have a rough time dealing with bm.

Buy an item that counters ur type of DMG. As pa against blademail try to stack ur armor really high. As Zeus against blademail I think a pipe is legit.
