Insane buff
Camp clearing abilities indirectly nerfed
HoTD not a carry stackremover item anymore
Means stack destroying afk farm gets kicked out of the meta and the meta shifts toward deathballing, pushing, and ataining map control
I belive he is cancer, pick wd, winter wyvern, earthshaker: major counters to him. But u'd probably lose anyways, howl is broken, his farm speed is broken.
Everyone needs to stop going vlads and go phase pms into Echo armlet Deso into whatever. Then u will have a 80% wr I guarantee it.
No the item is domi now. U dont need lifesteal, cuz u have 8 regen from domi, and some from howl, the attack speed aura works really well with the wolves cuz of their lower BAT now, and dominating an alpha wolf gives another unit affected by howl and feral impulse and such, plus it gives a dmg aura way better than vlads. U can get raindrops for the mana regen. Or a casual basi
I've heard the exact same thing b4 lmao but yeah^^
LycanthrOPe
yet I can't get to spam him before he gets nerfed T^T
@katz
Typical cocky 4k
Instead of giving insights of what's right or wrong, you try to look cool by acting cocky and looking down on people with less MMR than you
^He is a smurfer so no need to listen to him anyways lol.
Anyways guys what seems to be the way lycan is played now? Do we still make necro books or go more of a man fighting build?
Chen ult on 35 seconds cooldown SeemsGood. Broke my healing record even though I maxed howl last lul.
Armlet + Dominator + Necrobook 3 + Desolator + AC
Dominate an Alpha Wolf and that would make it up for damage loss from not getting Vlads. In fact, Alpha Wolf would provide better damage and Domi has an aura attack speed buff.
An all-star hero with late-game DPS for only 19300 gold...
Given the hero has been basically absent from pubs and competitive play for over 2 years I guess it was finally time for his comeback.
At the time when I first moved to Dota 2 Lycan was first pick/ban material, especially if on Dire side. Then he got nerfed a few times over patch 6.81 and 6.82 as part of the anti-TI4 death push changes, 6.82 was particularly devastating since it increased transformation cooldown by 50%, removed the lower BAT and added the transformation time which stopped him from just ulting and instantly running away at max movespeed.
Since then he was pretty much unchanged apart from a few little buffs in 6.85 and 6.86, neither of which was enough to make him tier 2 let alone tier 3 material. In fact Matumbaman is about the only carry of note who regularly played a successful Lycan throughout the past year.
I guess it was time for him to make the return to first pick/ban material again.
Played a few bot games with Lycan to get the mechanics down. Finding with the shrines and rushing hotd to take the alpha wolf, you become a monster at 20:00
Level 25 u have 4 wolves, AC, level 3 necro, howl + 30% packleader and the raxes just melt
Yeah but what if you don't find a wolf? Even if you do find one it'd be pretty hard to keep him alive when you die IMHO. Then you'll just have to find one all over again (and there isn't much time for that in the late game).
Anyway, what do you guys think about replacing HotD with Vlad's once you get AC? Vlad's gives 15 PERCENT (emphasis on percent) extra damage, meaning the more damage you have, the more damage you get; making Vlad's more viable in the late game. It's just an idea and I would love to hear your opinions.
Lycan isnt a late game hero. His window is 20-45
If you are effectively farming the jungle you should have a wolf by minute 5 at the latest. Many times you get him first spawn
With AC +Howl + feral the AW has 700 HP, 10.5 regen and 13 armor. Ergo, you dont send him in to be a meat shield but keep him on the back lines for the +30% dmg buff for the team.
Vlads is still K, it wasn't nerfed and it was and is a good item. But HotD with a wolf pretty much rapes Vlads on sight. Lifesteal wasn't the main thing for Lycan ever, and since hotd gives 8 hp regen and his passive gives 10 it's pretty much settled.
I agree that sometimes it's quite hard to find a wolf, but the reward is worth it. Keeping it alive isn't that hard TBH, unless you're pushing alone all the time and have bad positioning (get ganked without realizing it).
Think lycans build is going to keep changing for a while till we see a pro settle on one lol
