I'm guessing now that spells work on ancients, medallion might make it possible for you to farm ancients much earlier than you usually would be.
However, I don't think you complete solar crest, basically maybe just use it to get some kills and rosh and later sell it when you're running out of slots.
i only bought the upgrade because i was crushing, the game ended in >25 minutes
yeah id just leave it as a medallion and then go pike/silver edge/deso/bkb/skadi/whatever
upgrading it after skadi would probably make you suuuuuper tanky though
i think solar crest is super underused on carries actually, especially after the massive buff talisman got this patch
^It's not underused, it's super good for 2600 gold, but you want bigger items most of the time.

I mean, it's not bought less than it should be, I think. Underused would mean that it's a good pickup a lot of the time, but nobody buys it. But now that I think of it, it's really cheap at 2.6k gold so it might as well be underused in some scenarios.
Yeah I agree you should stack Ironwood Branches. Most cost-efficient stat items there is.
They were talking about using crest on Slark a while back just because you can purge off your own debuff, which sounds cute enough to be solid. Solar Crest is a good item but doesn't help you farm a whole lot so it isn't that popular for farmers
solar crest is a premium support item, or in carries that can rosh early on with medallion, like lycan.

I usually buy a casual blight on this hero just because of the synergy with wave, for an additional 875 gold you get a cool extra -5 armor and some mana regen, great for rosh and ancients
The only real concern is running out of slots, but you can have treads dlance hotd medallion wand +1 item or tp (another blight lul) and tp in backpack if necessary
