the hero is shit rn . mainly because he don't have a decent item progression that keep him strong the whole game , he got out classed by a ton of carries now
Gyro's a ded hero and people only remember the hero as SnY user. Don't expect in a bracket where people still go 5 carries draft to know that.
btw SnY was buffed a lot to a point it might be equally good as Aghs, but I think Aghs is still more fun and superior.
Agh mael makes you farm really damn fast. Agh mkb satanic is really good since you can pop satanic and the ls works even if you got stunned
gyro aghs + mjolnir is good but his nuke is too strong so it's easily gets countered by bm
Edit:It would be nice if side gunner focuses on heroes
4th or 5th item at best. You need damage, you need bkb, you need survivability(you could combine this and damage by going butterfly). Then, like you said, lifesteal while stunned, which equals you need lifesteal.
Don't get S&Y. Trust me I play Gyro. Don't. Gyro is no longer that untouchable mid-game carry with crazy late game potential-that would be Jugg now. He's now better off building for the late game AM style.
if you wanna go aghs you buy it first item (skip aquila) go wand drops phase and then run at everyone.
he should have rework like
if u active cannon instances cant be lost until he fires all
and u can stack it up with next cooldown

First off the item grants alot of stats and hp which gyro needs. 2nd the item offers the highest attack speed increase for cost of any item in the game. Granted you cannot control the shot but if you postion right it will always hit the enemy. I also found items like skadi, lifesteal and malestorm is amazing on the hero. If you have lifesteal even if you are stunned you still heal a ton just from the side gun.
