it'll take 10 games so unless someone is no-lifing this shit, you're not gonna find out till in a couple days.
I guarantee a bunch of people on here will be completed with calibration sometime in the wee hours of the morning. People aren't patient.
Ima find out tonight. 10 games of DotA, here I come BABY!
Old Solo: 3257
Old Party: 3333
Will edit when I've finished cali.
caps are adjusted to your main mmr now, so if u are 5k u can get 6k and no morem but 1k cant get more than 2k
I will be playing new ranked on my alternate account :
^But this makes no sense, are you sure about it? Where did you read it? If I was 4k before and I play like shit losing most of my games won't I get "3k"? You can only go up? What the fuck Volvo?
im playing in 6.2k games atm and the highest people are Herald which is the lowest rank so valve done fucked up i guess or everyone is playing together now
@Uncle Lou
Mee too.
I played only 1 game maybe it is normal?
How many games we have to play?
Its been months i was ranking and ranking.
Cant believe now im stuck in that garbage for new comers like.....
^ you still get matched with your mmr avg but the medals are probably bugged or get assigned after the 10 matches
Cookie the point is the interface dont say anything about 10 - 7 - 4 ; anyway matches of calibration to play yet.
Its made whit foot fingers...
people need to understand the difference between the medal on your profil (the highest you ever achieved) and the one used for matchmaking (wich can decrease)
people heavily dropping to 3.5k, possiblity for the 3.5k upper limit to not have changed?
I see chaos on ranked mm's now, but I feel comfort - players are more focused on win, or just want lose on purpose, but ranked mmr calibration now is better than earlier tbd
matchmaking is done on hidden mmr and the hidden mmr can drop below medal threshold, but ur medal wont drop
basically u just look like ur 3k, even if they match u with 2k's
I THINK
NOT CONFIRMED
I get 4k avg games thus far.
Two initial games I couldn't win.
Last game was vs former 5500 Spectre.
Ez lane, ez win.
I won't bother if I'll drop, because I will just get back to ~4.5k with ease, no matter the starting point.
It's my 3rd acc, so I've tried it before.
Medal I'll get doesn't matter.
Yeah but do we still get a number MMR with the medal after 10 games ? Coz they updated the game now and you can't even see the average of each team, the average MMR number for both teams isn't there anymore, is Dota becoming full LOL ?
I'm pretty sure if its 5k+ average just pick wyvern.
Ez hero heal
ez damage from q/w
ez kda with ult
ez gpm with the garbage +90 gpm talent
ez support stats since you're pos 7
what other metric am I missing
I was actually thinking about that Cookie. That possibility that Valve forgot to take down the max MMR calibration of 3.5K. Which means EVERYONE will be 3.5K. GIGALUL if this is true xD
Been at work so can't look myself yet, but probably it's just a "highest rank achieves this season" badge on your profile.
Your private badge/MMR changes obviously.
Can't wait to see Divine 5 playing in 2k/bronze tier after they go on a losing spree after buying a boost.
Yes its 10 for solo and 10 for party.
*edit* You can see how many are left by going to your profile and clicking the "stats" tab. Then look at the upper right hand corner and it should tell you how many left for each and after you finish, it will show your number but only there. Everyone else sees only the medal tier.
Any info regarding what counts in recalibration games, dmg, heal, xp, gpm, everything? Anything specific?
Also do you need to play both party and solo recalibration in order to get medal and does party mmr affect solo bracket you are placed in initially?
I wish we had more specifics but I guess we'll just have to keep seeing results coming out to see if they modernized the algorithms or not depending on your hero/role regarding the standards it uses to judge performance.
So far it seems if you calibrate EITHER solo or party you get a medal in your profile but your solo ranked has a larger impact than party on determining the medal so if you're a much higher solo than party, your solo medal will be the one it starts using for determining "fair matches" for team compositions. Also if you want to effect changes in your medal level you'll be able to do it a lot faster and easier through getting better at solo queue. This, however, is just my speculation based on what I'm seeing so far from others who have finished the process already.
Old solo mmr: 4260
old party mmr: 6133
current medal: legend 3
5 wins - 6 losses (need 11 games for calibration)
old solo mmr: 1350
old party mmr: 1050
current medal: Guardian 3
5 winns and 5 losses
I wish they'd name the medals something else so it'll be easier to tell which ranks are above which. Were they afraid of making bad players feel bad so they gave all the medals cool names?
I've got a bit of a wrench to throw into this conversation. Its a russian thread posted in another mmr discussion on reddit. https://dota2.ru/forum/threads/test-kalibrovki-vozvrat-avg-mmr.1134750/
Its in russian but you can google translate if you want the gist of things there.
Rough Translation and Synopsis: So far with 10 meepo hard-stomps by a higher mmr smurfing it resulted in +300 mmr from where the account was at the start of calibration. From another person, a 10 game afk riki who just bought shadow amulet and afk'd near exp range so he didn't abandon every game got +600 from that performance in calibration so something very weird is happening.
We're also seeing things like 2900 calibrations that end up in Archon 2-3 and other strange calibrations that show a rather odd medal to mmr number range.
Long story short, we need a lot more data. So far what we're seeing is a HUGE range of medals and mmr numbers and performances having little to no effect on the calibration process.
Anyone else have more data to contribute because so far this is confusing the hell out of me how they changed this.
