He's a lower rank than you, which probably has a lot to do with progression. Also if you calibrated at Archon 2 as your party MMR then your solo is likely respectively higher.
My question to you is why would you pose as a player New to dota when you are clearly a failed smurf/not new?
Rekt. Whe you are genuinely a beginner and not a smurf, you will calibrate at 1k(that's the highest mmr a newbie will get)
I don't believe anybody when they claim to be a new player unless their first match looks something like this.

You are a player who is garbage in his main account, so you are trying to convince yourself those past 500 matches didn't happen. Just like changing the date of the calendar from 2017 to 2018 won't change you as a person, changing accounts won't change you as a player.

Ah right , thanks for the initial response as for the follow up (mainly the long one) I wasn't aware that my rank was particularly high my friend who introduced me to the game said it was about average and Dotabuff claims normal skill. So I assumed I was par for the course. But yeah was just curious on why when playing the same games one of us climbed faster so thanks for the help.

maybe he is "new" to other heroes. haha! my friend recenty started DoTA a real newb. and he is on 800 mmr dude. because he dont have any idea on how the game works. I think that's the definition of newb.

So I'm respectively new to Dota (not reached the 100 game threshold yet) but I decided to play the ranked mode when the new system appeared. Now my question is on ranking up I calibrated at Archon 2 while the person who was showing me Dota calibrated at Crusader 0 (which was pretty funny) all my ranked games are played with him with the exception of 3 solo games i did with 2 wins and 1 loss. My question is why has he been able to rank up twice and I haven't ranked up at all. All my games are with him so we should have the same party win loss rate (he only plays party with me) and the solo games he has done he has lost 4 won 2. I just dont understand why my rank is remaining stagnant (We do win more games than we lose). Anyone of you more experienced players know?
