My initial thought is that low picked heroes tend to only be picked in situations where they work so if someone is picking brood/meepo into tide then it is probably because they already know the tide is countered in some way.
Maybe it's true. Tide and Brood almost never meet in lane. So it comes down to what can they do in game. Tide doesn't offer much against early pusher line-ups, despite what you might think. And that's what his counters' page is filled by.
If the matchup contains 2 niche picks, you've got very limited scenarios of data.
Maybe it's not about the individual hero, but also about what heroes are often picked with say a tide and a brood.

I do believe that stats is a good way to gain some insight to the game, i also use site like dotapicker to gain advantages in games. But sometimes i feel like i cannot completely trust these stats and therefore their suggestions. Some of the stat on this page make me wonder is there any factor that i am not considering, or some errors in the sample or some statistical errors.
I have noticed many like oddities this before but the only one i can come up right now is the top "tidehunter countered by". There is no way in hell that brood, meepo(Both of which i can play and understand pretty well) and chen(i dont know this hero well at all but suspect it shouldn't belong here) are the top counter for tide, if anything it would be the other way around: tide would crushes these heroes. Also their disadvantages also way too high, go into double digit (meepo>tide 10.52%, chen>tide 15.75%) compare to other classic counter like am>storm 4,89%, ta>sf 2.93% etc.
If someone have some insights about these issues please help.
