No, Io is not particularly difficult and is very adaptable. What makes a game hard when you're playing Io is dependence on at least one other ally to understand your potential and be onboard with your plans as you try to make plays.
In that regard, playing Io in soloq versus party games is a bad idea unless you have very strong leadership skills and are very persuasive.
believe me,i ever got raped by 7k io mid(or its 6k) by he buying domi urn and other retarded items,if you're that good you not gonna be depend on your allies i think
they have been dumbing the hero down latley so no hes not really hard to play and understand, however you do need team communication to play him at his full power
dont think necro works, domi is good because you get like max ms from min 8 and you can rape everyone with it+spirits
get centa/slam/satyr enemy team very ded
Literally 2nd technically hardest hero in game no doubt.Doesn't matter what are you going to do and how, its still hardest hero to win with.
Playing him on mid is for me the biggest job at dota, only chen could be compare-able.
And this is not only couse hes hard to play, but if you try this in any ranked games youre under the presure from pick stage if ppl don't know you....but this probably can understand only players who have done this.
if you're purely going by pub winrate to judge difficulty of a hero I don't think that's a good idea. currently natures prophet has the 4th lowest winrate this month and that hero isn't complex. difficulty of a hero is more than just whether or not you need good mechanical skills to play the hero.
there can be other reasons for a hero's pub winrate being low - e.g. balance patches. spectre used to have almost 60% winrate, now it's around 52-53%. and the only thing that happened was she got nerfed hard after TI. hero still plays the same way though.
im not a wisp player but i dont think wisp is mechanically complex either. spirits are much easier to use now, they're either close or far no in between, and you just follow a core around with tether keeping them topped up so they can use spells to farm. I think the difficulty is coordinating with a partner.
@Androgynous
I dont think Spectre got nerfed hard, i think its more of a placebo effect that people get when a hero is balanced. When the majority think Spectre is trash cause of a nerf the pickrate drops and so does the winrate but when a hero like Spectre still have 53% winrate i would say she is pretty strong.
Watch wisper on yt. Io spammer plays support, gets a ton of kills, doesn’t rely on teammates that much
Androgynous bro, you said np is not complex, well not so much but have also incredibly high skill cap, that how you can master your trees making that cap really high.
hero mastery of np is actually realy easy, learn how to block people with your treant(very easy),sprout+nature call on fron of enemy hero(or exactly in his middle)
watch minimap constantly to see the courier on first 3 mins(or kindly ask your team to say,if enemy team uses courier plz tell me)
and dont use your ult for farming, use it when fight happen
that's all,the bad thing about this hero is that you need to understand how to splitpush and other retarded things like not getting out of position and attack enemy supports first etc etc
and you also need to know how to rape lanes with trees, which is easy if you watch players who play np,literally just hitting stuff
dont forget to cast ur skill 3 on fountain(starting game) also to contest the bounty

The title says it i am currently intrested in the hero but the complexity confuses me because he doesn't have any complicated abilities. So if you know why it's said that he's hard pls tell me
